Before The Big Transition

Suzzane has just come out of High School. She survives on her parents' money. She wants a job now.Though her parents are nothing like the others, they want her to just enjoy life. She looks at the professionals and feels intrigued by their opulent lifestyle. She wants to be like them. She gets selected for a job opportunity in a distant land,a foreign country. She is asked to join within a lead time of three days.

All she feels now is tension, stress, anticipation and apprehension.Things were not supposed to happen like this.Time was travelling faster. In a hurry she dropped a letter at the firm's address asking for more details and a legal notice. She wakes up next morning to no reply.

Her first step to a corporate world appeared colored in grey. The day passed with anxiety.Familiar things were becoming unfamiliar.Entangling fierce thoughts, she was overwhelmed with a fury of emotions. She called her would be employers and asked them of their whereabouts. She was shy but had to ask what was transpiring. They gave her a few details and asked her to follow etiquettes.

She was supposedly asked to join in two days and still was unclear of what had to be done. She cursed herself for calling them.Had she been more patient, she would not have got the spanking.

As children, we all have remained too protected.Once somebody decides to step out,the reality is different.Suzzane had not even stepped out of her house yet, still the world was being cruel to her.Won't such incidents make her weak?Is it not the responsibility of the employers to be a little kind to the people who would be working for them?

Smooth transition of a fresher into the corporate world should be a pro for both the employee and the employer. No matter how mature one grows, kindness must come handy in times of distress.Maybe the fault was Suzzane's too but a different kind of response from the organization could have made things better and simpler.
